Shay 4bTruck Class D locomotive 5inch gauge

Our client is offering this beautiful 5-inch gauge locomotive for sale—a 4-truck Shay. It has a current boiler certificate and runs like a dream.

When I first acquired this loco three years ago, it hadn’t been run in about five years and had a few minor issues. Fortunately, these were small problems that have all since been resolved. It is now running perfectly.

There are four ways to feed water into the boiler: an injector, a steam pump, a hand pump, and an electric pump (which I fitted in the tender last year). She runs beautifully, with impressive power and excellent track grip.
